What an amazing update!
Ive used OmniGraffle on the Mac for years, and jumped on the first OmniGraffle for iPad when it came out. I found it a good backup, but a tad cumbersome to use, so didnt regret the purchase but also didnt use it much.
When I got an iPad pro, I was immediately looking again for something to help make technical diagrams. I found this update, mandatory with IOS 9, and it is 100% worth it. The add-in free "pro" upgrade for the 1.x users was a lovely benefit, but regardless of the pro features, the update is amazing. Its much cleaner and easier to use, navigation to options is clearer, and the overall flow doesnt feel disjointed at all. On the iPad Pro, with that additional screen real-estate, the application is glorious - pencil in hand or just with touch. The tap and select mechanisms feel crisper and more responsive, which makes working with large diagrams quickly even easier.
I do miss loading in my own stencils from the Mac desktop days, but in practice I dont really use all that many, so Im not finding that to really be a loss.
The pro features that are added on totally take it through the win. I dont need Visio import, although its nice to know its there, but the shape merging tools - something Ive loved from early days with Adobe Illustrator - is incredibly useful for the detailed designs, and worth the whole set (to me) for that functionality alone.
For a tool on the iPad Pro to make a technical diagram, OmniGraffle is now my top go-to application.
